Who Am I? Bible Figures: Game Guide

Who am I? riddles about 25 Bible figures - 4 clues from their story, hardest first, and a right guess reveals a painting of the scene, a fact and the verse.

▶️ Play NowA painting of Noah's ark on the water with animals, a dove with an olive leaf and a rainbow, with two Hebrew clues below it, the caption I am Noah and the Genesis reference

🎯 How to play

  1. Pick a mode: Relaxed with no timer and no losing, or Challenge with 3 hearts and a timer for every clue.
  2. Start from stage 1, or pick any of the five stages.
  3. Read the first clue. The figure speaks in the first person, and the first clue is always the hardest.
  4. Think you know who it is? Tap one of the four names. Not sure? Tap Another clue.
  5. A wrong guess opens the next clue, and in Challenge mode it also costs a heart.
  6. A right guess reveals a painting of the figure's famous scene, a fact and the Bible reference.

Bible figures tell their own story

In this game every riddle is a figure from the Bible speaking in the first person. “I sent a raven and a dove out of the window to see if the water had dried up” - who am I? Each figure has four clues from their story, and they get easier as you go: the first clue is a detail people tend to forget, and the last is the thing every child knows.

The game runs on the same engine as Who Am I? with animals and objects, but all the content comes from the Bible: Patriarchs and Matriarchs, prophets, judges and kings.

How to play

Each riddle starts with a card showing a question mark. Below it are the first clue and four names to choose from. Guess right, and the question mark opens to reveal a painting of the scene most tied to that figure: Noah and the ark, Daniel in the lions’ den, Ruth in the field of Boaz, the walls of Jericho falling. Under the painting you get a fact that was not in the clues and the Bible reference, for anyone who wants to open the book and read the whole story.

A wrong guess crosses that name out and opens the next clue. The fewer clues you need, the more stars you get: 3 stars after one clue, 2 after two, and 1 after that.

Five stages

The 25 figures are split into five stages of five. The first stage starts with figures every child knows: Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and Esther. Later stages bring Joseph and Jonah, Rebecca and Miriam, Aaron and Samuel, and finally Deborah, Joshua, Hannah, Saul and Mordecai. The menu lets you choose which stage to start from.

Careful about accuracy

Every clue comes from the verses, and every riddle shows its reference. When a fact comes from the Sages rather than the verse itself, the game says so - for example the well that traveled with the Israelites in the desert thanks to Miriam (Taanit 9a), or the Midrash that Isaac never left the Land of Israel (Rashi on Genesis 26:2).

The paintings were chosen with care too: each figure appears in a scene from their own story, with no symbols that don’t belong to the Bible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which figures are in the game?

25 figures: Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, Rachel, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Miriam, Joshua, Deborah, Samson, Ruth, Hannah, Samuel, Saul, David, Solomon, Elijah, Jonah, Daniel, Esther and Mordecai.

Are the clues accurate?

Every clue is taken from the verses, and each riddle shows its reference after you guess. Where a fact comes from the Sages or the Midrash rather than the verse itself, like Miriam's well, the game says so.

Why are the answer options always all men or all women?

Because in Hebrew the verb gives away whether the speaker is a man or a woman. So that nobody can guess from grammar alone, a riddle about a woman offers four women's names, and a riddle about a man offers four men's names.

What age is the game for?

For children who already know the Bible stories from home, kindergarten or school, and for the whole family. In Relaxed mode you can open every clue, and the last clue is familiar even to young children.
